With Los Leoncitos in India to compete in another Jr. World Cup, Federico Hanselmann and Luca Dulor spoke with AM850 about the experience they are about to begin to live. The players from GEBA and San Martín de Tucumán respectively will debut with the Argentine shirt in this World Cup that begins at the end of November.

“Representing Argentina in a World Cup is a dream for many. This was undoubtedly the goal we all had at the beginning of the year and I am very excited to be here”said Luca, to which Fede added that he is very happy and that they have a lot of fun as a group, something essential for this type of tournament and category. Although competition and the desire to win is essential, they are also years of training, not only technically, but humanly. Playing the U21 World Cup is a privilege for some.

The Leoncitos share a group with China, Japan and New Zealand, but if they had to choose a rival they would like to face it would be the Netherlands and Spain. The Dutch, a country from which much is always expected, and the Spanish, the last European champions, are two renowned teams in both the Major and Junior.

Just eight days before the World Cup dream begins, Los Leoncitos debut against the Japanese team on Friday, November 28 at 4:45 in the morning, on Disney+ Premium Plan. In eight days they will put on the shirt and sing the anthem for the first time. “Thinking about it gives me goosebumps because it’s what I always dreamed of.”commented Fede. The emotion they feel is very great, since it is the result of the work of the entire year – and of recent times -, with the awareness that they are going to compete in a tournament that many also dream of achieving.

With the bitter taste of the last World Cup, and the illusion that the last time it was in India they were champions, Argentina is going with everything it has and more to show who they are. While for some it is the first, for others it is the last. “We know that everyone wants to be in our place, and luckily today it’s our turn”Luca finished.
