Antetokounmpo began complaining about his groin and limped through the defense before fouling out and heading to the Bucks locker room with 3:03 left in the second quarter. He was ruled out for the rest of the game after the break.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers stated after the game that the groin injury began to bother Antetokounmpo as early as the first quarter, and that he will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

“He didn’t look good, I can tell you that,” Rivers said. “Tomorrow we will know more.”

“He grabbed him in the first quarter, I asked him and he told me nothing was wrong,” Rivers said. “Then, I think, he grabbed it again and said nothing was wrong. Then the third time was when it happened, but I think it happened before, in my opinion.”

Antetokounmpo has had one of the best starts to the season of his career. He averages 32.6 points on 63% shooting from the field, 11.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists in his first 12 games this season.

“We have work to do,” Rivers said. “There’s always something positive… I don’t know what it is. The situation doesn’t look good right now. If (Kevin Porter Jr.) and Giannis don’t play, that’s not good for our team, but we’ll find someone or some strategy that will give us results later on. And that’s the stretch we’re about to go through. We’ll be ready.”
