Freddie Freeman would return with Dodgers on Friday vs. Cubs
Dave Roberts, manager of Dodgers, believes that Freddie Freeman will return to the alignment on Friday against the Cubs.
Washington – Los Angeles Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, said Wednesday that he expects the first Freddie Freeman base to return to the alignment on Friday, when the team begins a series of three games against the Chicago Cubs.
Freeman has been practicing live batting in recent days. It was placed on the list of injured with retroactive effect as of March 31 after twisting the right ankle, which had been operated, slipping in the shower of his house.
“Just seeing his way of running yesterday, I would say it’s better than when the season started,” Roberts said. “I saw him do some lateral things, but that question is probably better for Freddie.”
Freeman goes 12-3 with two homers and four races promoted in three games this season. The inaugural series of the Dodgers in Tokyo was lost against the Cubs for discomfort in the ribs of the left zone, and then remained out of the series last week against Atlanta before going to the IL.
The same ankle was twisted last September, and then he had difficulties in the first two series of Los Angeles playoffs before winning the most valuable world series of the World Series by hitting four home runs in five games against the New York Yankees. He underwent debridement surgery in December to eliminate loose bodies in the ankle.
