Fernando Alonso’s radio for the Honda engine: “It can’t be possible. I have a problem. I don’t have power when exiting the corners. Think about whether I finish and we change it for qualifying”

Fernando Alonso suffered complications again with the Honda engine in the sprint race of the F1 Singapore GP 2026played this Saturday. The Asturian driver alerted the team about this by radio in the middle of the sprint event, asking the group if they wanted to withdraw the car to change the engine before qualifying with more time, but finally, he finished the sprint and in 11th place.

When his track engineer was talking to him about what he should do with the tires, the Asturian driver answered him forcefully: “Concentrate on the engine.”

“I think there is a problem with the engine. It can’t be possible. I have no power when exiting the corners”he commented later. “Think about whether you want to change the engine before qualifying and the time to do it, whether you want to finish the race or not”he expressed, in a communication in which he asked if he wanted him to withdraw the car, since he had no points option, so that the mechanics would have more time to put another engine in his car before the afternoon qualifying session.

All this, with the aim of being able to have a propeller without those setbacks in the Sunday race, in search of points.
