Last turn before the traffic lights go out at Interlagos

The race is going to start now. We first review the starting grid. Bottas starts from pit lane:

F1 GP Brazil | The rain may come

Once the race starts, There is an 80% chance that rain will arrive during this test. Let’s see what happens at that moment. If it rains a lot, it will stop with a red flag. If it’s four drops… there could be madness on the track. Whatever happens, the first few laps when it starts to rain will be chaos.

F1 GP Brazil | Comeback operation of the ‘coconuts’ who leave behind

Yesterday there were multiple sanctions for engine changes. Russell had 5 spots; Leclerc, 10; Verstappen and ‘Checo’, 30 positions, and Hamilton, 75 by changing engines twice after a problem in FP3 when he had already used a new engine. That makes the starting grid surprising. Two of the best drivers, with two of the best cars, will start in the last places. Hamilton will start 20th and Verstappen, 21st. Meanwhile, Leclerc will start 14th and Russell, 7th.
Everyone will look to overcome on a day in which there is a forecast of 90% of rain from early morning to afternoon. There could be more soporific waits for the race to start due to the rain, but it could also be a chaotic and exciting event.

Carlos Sainz, from 13th

Carlos Sainz was affected by a red flag in Q2 that prevented him from making his turns with intermediate rubber. He could have aspired to start higher with a Williams that was far behind in the dry. In complicated conditions like those now, he will try to fish in troubled rivers.

Fernando Alonso shone in qualifying

The Asturian driver, with a car with which he was 18th in Free Practice 3, was able to finish 9th (8th on the grid) in a crazy wet classification. He gave a recital when conditions meant that the performance of his car and its engine did not matter as much. When the asphalt was wetter and the conditions were more difficult, in Q1, the man from Oviedo came to put himself first and with every lap he took he always placed himself in the Top-5.
Then, he was the first to put on the intermediate tire in Q2 and in Q3 he came out first in line at the pit lane because the rain was coming… he could aspire to a Top-4 or Top-5, as Fernando himself said, but in the first lap his wheels were frozen and, believing that he couldn’t do two laps because of the rain, he used up the entire battery. Finally everyone was able to take a second turn and Fernando, with the wheels already warm, had no power to display. “I will learn from it,” said the Asturian.
The driver from Oviedo was the driver who spent the longest time at full throttle in qualifying compared to all the rest of his rivals. That says a lot about what the Spaniard achieved.
– Fernando Alonso: “I was the first to leave and I thought: ‘okay, maybe this gives us the possibility of being in the Top-4 or Top-5 if it rains'”

Scare before starting for Kimi Antonelli

It rained before the race, and although it is no longer raining now, the track is wet and the drivers warn that although there is less water than in qualifying, the asphalt has very little grip. And an example of this is what he has suffered Kimi Antonelli. He new world champion has left the track on his way to the grid.
Luckily for him, he was able to return to the asphalt although with complications, since he almost stayed on the grass. He had to go downhill to look for a distant asphalt escape to return. He was able to take his car to the grid, where he started 2nd. What a scare.
