F1: Franco Colapinto and its urgencies reach the Hungary GP
The Alpine pilot will play this weekend the 14th date of the World Cup in Hungaroring, the last race before the vacation recess. Before the consultation, he did not confirm his presence when the tournament resumes.
The Hungary GP arrived, the race marked on the F1 agenda as the last before the teams enter the summer vacation recess in the northern hemisphere. There will be Franco Colapinto, in his eighth weekend as Alpine pilot, urged by a result that applauds the noise, gives him that confidence that seems cracked and allows him to channel the year.
Colapinto is the only pilot of the current grill who did not add points in the season. There is a specific fact: Alpine is the most weak team of 2025 and the numbers only reflect that reality. The Estone team navigates in the last place in the construction table, separated by 15 points of the last last, Haas. Only four appointments back was five, at that time with respect to Sauber. French team bleeding does not stop. At least now, Renault, Alpine’s parent house, already appointed a new CEO, the Frenchman François Provost, who had been indicated by Luca de Meo, the outgoing Pope, as his best successor. If Provost continues the Italian policy, the sound sale of the team would placate. That alone, will not constitute a performance, clear. In fact, Alpine seems to be sentenced to last in 2025 whenever a Green dog As it was San Pablo last year, when the flood that fell translated into an unthinkable 2-3 of Alpine and the direct flight to the sixth place of the World Cup.
The fragility of the team has some strengths in the year: The change of brake records in the A525 of Colapint in full of Canada, the gearbox that did not allow him to start the Argentine in Great Britain and the water leak that left Pierre Gasly in Belgium without Sprint, losing his chance to leave from the great eighth place he had achieved.
Now, in that context, Gasly scored 20 points in the year (all of Alpine) and added in three of the last five dates. The French manages to squeeze the car and draw water from the stones. The former Alpha Tauri got seven times in Q3 in the 13 disputed dates (he was also in Q3 for the spa sprint). Instead, Colapinto was far from advancing to the last instance in his seven classifications (neither in the short race). And, the even greater problem is its lack of rhythm in the race. In Belgium, the same Buenos Aires pilot (he is usually very sincere in his statements) spoke of how bad it was with the A525.
Urified by a good result, Colapinto reaches Hungaroring for date 14. The place far is to be the ideal for Alpine. It is an intricate track in which a tuning similar to that of Monaco is used. This year, in the Principality, Gasly and Colapinto did not go from Q1. Colapinto had a decreasing performance since he went up in Icola and he himself recognized him before the press in Hungary. “I feel like Icola was my best week. It was the first time that with the car and it was the time when I was closest to Pierre. Now he is costing me and trying to understand where I have to work to be better. ” Colapinto repeated in Budapest something that is key to understanding its moment: “I said it from the beginning, I lack confidence in the car, sometimes I can not bend and enter the curve, and that takes my confidence. Now it costs me more, it is reality.”
In Hungary there will be no Sprint and the Argentine will have three training sessions to turn with his Alpine. Colapint is protected by his need to work hard with the team. “You have to find a way to be competitive at the times that is costing me a little. We came with a couple of solutions with the team after spa and I hope they work,” he warned.
That lack of competitiveness that Collapint himself says is what motivated the noise about his future. Valtteri Bottas was a name that sounded very strong, more than anything because even Toto Wolff recognized talks with Flavio Briatore. The Finnian occupies the reserve position of Mercedes and the director of the arrows already said that he will let him go if he has a title chance. Czech Pérez also entered the Runrún and even Paul Aron, the Alpine Reserve, was mentioned. That’s why, Not even Franco himself was encouraged to confirm that he will be at A543 after the recess when an English journalist asked: “I don’t know. I’m going weekend. Now I am very happy to be here in Hungary and I will try to maximize the weekend.”
Colapinto knows perfectly that the world of F1 is based on results or money, or both. They are just 20 seats and it is clear about the emergency that is happening. A convincing action, which does not necessarily mean by adding points, which is clear, would provide trust and tranquility.
