F1: Ferrari opted for stability to return to success

John Elkann, the strong man of the Scuderia, explained the reasons why they decided to bet on the continuity of Frédéric Vasseur as team director.

John Elkann is the President and Executive Director of Exor, the investment holding control by the Agnelli family, a conglomerate in which Ferrari is. In a word: he is the strong man of the Italian brand and spoke during the Hungary GP about the decision to renew the bond of Frédéric Vasseur in his position as director of the F1 Team, leaving behind the chance of hiring Christian Horner, fired from Red Bull.

“Really, we have worked well with Fred, and when you work well, it is important to continue working well,” said Elkann, tongue twisted. “The reality is that, from these years, we all want to build more, and we know that, in Formula 1, the times are such that what you really need is commitment, trust and make sure that time is there with you,” added the Pope.

Vasseur assumed in the Scuderia in 2023 with a contract for three seasons that won at the end of the year.
