F1: Czech Pérez, in Alpine folder in 2026?
The Mexican pilot sounds strong for Cadillac, a team that will join the World Cup next year, but in Europe they point to an encounter with the French.
You could say that Czech Pérez is in a sabbatical year. After its stormy Red Bull departure at the end of the 2024 exercise, the Mexican did not close the doors to formula 1, much less. The Tapatío had signed a new contract in May last year with the shield of energy drinks for the current season, but in December from Milton Keynes they decided to cut it after paying a millionaire termination.
Pérez took advantage of the first months of 2025 to be with his family, while studying the panorama by 2026. And, according to The-Race site, Alpine is an option. According to the British media, Czech’s working group would have met with Flavio Briatore to learn about conditions and warned that they continue to count on the financial support of Carlos Slim Domit, the millionaire owner of telecommunications companies.
The Mexican is one of the great candidates to occupy a armchair in Cadillac, a team that will be added in 2026. Of course, it is an unknown because being a new team, and in full change of technical regulations, it is almost a coin in the air in terms of performance and for Pérez the Estone team could be more tempting.
Alpine, these days, is in full evaluation of his own pilots to assemble the 2026 couple, Flavio Briatore, director of the Team, said when Franco Colapint was announced in replacement of Jack Doohan. In addition to the Argentine and the Australian, the French team also has Paul Aron in the triggers. But, of course, financial support can be decisive. Now, if Briratore finally opted for the Argentine, maybe Slim could arrive, who has the Telmex team with which he supports Latin corridors.
