President Donald Trump attends the Yankees game against Tigers to remember the anniversary of the September 11 attacks

New York – President Donald Trump attended Thursday to the New York Yankees game to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, hours after honoring the memory of the victims in the Pentagon.

The Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, commented that Trump was even expected to pass through his team’s locker room, which he received the Detroit Tigres.

“I am excited to be part of the fact that he will be here,” said Boone, who hoped that he and the president had the opportunity to “interact for a few minutes.”

A presidential visit always causes additional security measures in sporting events, but this need became even more pressing after Trump’s conservative activist and close ally, Charlie Kirk, was killed in Utah on Wednesday.

The same Thursday, when Trump attended the commemoration ceremony of September 11 in the Pentagon, the authorities transferred the act to the interior as an additional precaution.

The presence of Trump in the Yankees game on September 11 recalled the ceremonial launch of the first ball, made by President George W. Bush 24 years before, when the Yankees played against the Diamondbacks of Arizona in the 2001 World Series. It was a moment that came to symbolize national resilience, just a few weeks after the attacks.
