Davis Cup: Colombia announced date and venue for the playoffs
The Racquet Complex in the city of Ibagué will be in charge of hosting the series between the Colombia Davis Cup team and the Barbados team scheduled for Friday, January 31, and Saturday, February 1, 2025 as the chosen dates.
This was made official by David Samudio, Executive Director of the Colombian Tennis Federation, after the International Tennis Federation (ITF) gave approval to the city and the stage.
The team captained by Alejandro Falla will face Barbados in the play-offs of Davis Cup World Group I. It is worth remembering that the national team has just faced the locals in Japanese territory where they were looking to advance to the qualifiers, so now the objective is to stay in World Group I.
The Ibagué Racquet Complex today has four auxiliary courts, the stadium court and a construction area that meets the standards required to carry out an event like the Davis Cup.
It must be said that the main court or stadium in which the commitments will be fulfilled has lighting of 2,100 luxes, remembering that the International Tennis Federation (ITF) requires having 1,200, thus exceeding all the requirements regarding this point.
It is worth remembering that the Ibagué Racquet Complex was inaugurated in 2022 and the stadium court was named Cabal-Farah, in recognition of the national players Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah. On the day of its inauguration, the national doubles players gave an exhibition with Alejandro Falla.
