Dani Gómez, formerly of Real Madrid, Levante and Zaragoza, signs for FC Tokyo
The Spanish forward Dani Gomez28 years old, a Real Madrid youth player and with experience in Tenerife, Levante, Espanyol or Valencia, has signed for the FC Tokyo of the J1 League of Japan after leaving the Saragossa at the end of last season, according to the team in a statement.
“Our common goal is to become champions. It will be a long road, but we will fight with all our strength to achieve it. I believe that building a great team with a strong mentality and adding small efforts will lead us to reach our goal. I am looking forward to meeting the fans in the stadium,” declared the Madrid native to his new team.
Gómez played during the 2025/2026 season for Zaragoza, in LaLiga Hypermotion, where he scored nine goals in 33 games. He arrived in the winter market of 2025 and had a contract with the Maño team until June 2028, but, after the relegation to the First Federation, he was free.
The experience in Japan will be the first outside of Spain for Dani Gómez, who will wear the number 99. FC Tokyo is fifth in the Japanese league with seven games played, after four wins, eight goals for and five against.
