Colombia vs Spain: Neiser Villarreal breaks historic record with his hat trick

Neiser Villarreal was the undisputed figure of triumph 3-2 of Colombia against Spain in the quarterfinals of the Under 20 World Cup in Chile 2025 scoring three goals and breaking a historic mark in the Selection.

Millionaire’s attackers excelled with three scoresdemonstrating his scoring power and being decisive in ending Spanish illusions.

He made one in the first half and two in the complement. The third was agonizing, close to the final whistle, for put Colombia in the semifinals after 22 years.

Villarreal came from scoring twice against South Africa in the second round. They were his first goals in the competition, which took a while to arrive but did so at the right time for Colombian joy.

Adding all his goals in the World Cup, Neiser has 5 in total and thus broke a record in the Colombian National Team.

And, with his 5 goals, Neiser Villarreal became the top scorer in Colombia’s history in the U20 World Cup.

He surpassed the record of other footballers such as Óscar Cortés, Luis Muriel and John Tréllezwho were 4.

Neiser will not be able to play in the semifinals for having reached the limit of warnings, so his scoring tally can only increase if the Tricolor reaches the final of the championship, played in Chile.
