Colombia rotated team and tied 0-0 in friendly with Canada

Loose tie Colombia in view of Canada in New Jersey. They closed their friendly tour in the US undefeated and will play again in November.

The team had nine changes in its second friendly for the United States with no changes in its structure. Luis Díaz, captain, and Jhon Lucumí were the only ones who repeated the 4-0 win over Mexico in Texas. Álvaro Montero returned to goal; Andrés Román, Davinson Sánchez and Johan Mojica were in defense; Juan Portilla accompanied Richard Ríos in the middle, while Juan Camilo Hernández, Jaminton Campaz and Juan Fernando Quintero played in attack.

That formation with alternatives was in trouble to overcome a physical opponent with 13 fouls in the first half that prevented the National Team from scoring shots on goal. He stopped Ríos’ coming and going, delayed Luis Díaz, who was erratic in some starts, and annulled the generation of technical play.

In the second half James came on for Campaz. Together with JuanFer again!, although only for 15 minutes Well, Rafael Borré, Kevin Serna and Yaser Asprilla also entered. “Lucho” came out in that round of changes after failing the clearest one. His shot went very close to the far post.

He had more passes inside, at times rushing towards the area. On the right it was more dangerous with Yaser and the 10 tried more partnerships. Canada took care of equality and defended itself with the majority of players close to its goal.

Colombia will close the 2025 season with two more friendlies in November. On the 15th they will face New Zealand in Florida and the 18th in New York.
