Colapinto, in conversation with AM850: “Austin was the race that I enjoyed the most”
Franco Colapinto arrives at the United States GPthe 19th date of the 2025 calendar, in stoppage time. The Argentine is waiting for Alpine’s announcement about the second driver for 2026, something that will only be known in November, as confirmed to AM850.com. And this Thursday gave an exclusive interview to Juan Fossaroli, from AM850.
Colapinto’s chances are based on the notable improvement he showed since the Hungarian GP and, of course, on the financial support that comes from the companies that support him.
The Argentine driver has not yet been able to score points in this F1 season and hopes to be able to do so in the final stretch of 2025. In the talk, he told how he feels in this section and the memories that the competition in Austin brings him.
“Austin was the race I enjoyed the mostin which I felt most satisfied with my performance. I was able to add points, I had the advance of the month,” he commented.
“In the Alpine, one hour of training is not enough, it is difficult for me to feel comfortable and happyit always takes me longer. Last year, with the Williams, I did a run and I felt comfortable; I will try to be quick and I hope I have a great weekend,” said Colapinto.
“It was a nice weekend. In addition to the result and the reception from the people, I take those memories with me and every time I return they come to mind. Mexico, Brazil and Austin are the ones I enjoy the most. The experience I had last year was unique; “I’m happy for the support,” he added.
“There are different types of pressureit makes me very proud and we are going to have a good weekend. “I don’t know where the nickname ‘El Gaucho’ came from, I don’t watch the networks, I don’t feel like a gaucho, my old man is,” he said.
