None of the pilots found a good balance in the two practices on Friday at Yas Marina

Czech Perez is optimistic after the two free practices of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024which finished in tenth position in the first session and subsequently finished in fourteenth place.

The Mexican pointed out that the car is promising in long runs, but they may have problems in qualifying if they do not solve the problems they presented when performing fast lap simulations.

“It was complicated today. One lap is difficult at the moment and I think we have work to do. I think that in the long term it is much more promising, but in one lap we have to find something, we have to try to connect the car,” he commented.

Czech Perez He commented that, during the second practice, “we have been trying a lot of things, but they still haven’t worked,” since he and his teammate Max Verstappen They had different programs, but they did not have good results.

“The car doesn’t feel terribly bad, it’s just that we are one lap slower than we want. “The long term was encouraging, but we need to work together to make sure we are competitive in qualifying tomorrow,” he said.

For its part, Max Verstappen He agreed with Checo when pointing out that the main problem that the RB20 presents is balance, which is why it finished in seventeenth position in the second practice.

“The balance of the car wasn’t very good today, which made it quite difficult to drive and meant we had a pretty difficult session. “This is something we need to work on overnight and we will see what we can do to improve our pace.”

Max was more forceful when pointing out that what was shown this Friday will not be enough to beat McLaren.

“At this rate I don’t think we can beat the McLarenas they seem very fast this weekend, but I think if we can get into the top five or six, it would be good. “It will be about recovery, since today was quite complicated, but we will see what happens tomorrow.”
