The templates chosen by the Caitlin Clark Capitanas de las Fever and Napheesa Collier of the Lynx for the WNBA stars game were announced on Tuesday.
The three ALL-STARS OF THE INDIAN FAVER will be in the same team for next WNBA Star Game In Indianapolis on July 19. The templates, chosen by the captains Caitlin Clark of the Faver and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynxthey were announced on Tuesday.
Clark and Collier, the two most voted players by the fans, first selected from the remaining eight starters and then completed their teams by choosing among the 12 reservations. They also made an exchange: that of the main coaches.
Cheryl Reeve, from Minnesota, was initially assigned to direct the Clark team, since the team coach with the best WNBA record at July 3 corresponded to the player with more votes. Sandy Brondello, from the New York Liberty, team coach with the second best record at that time, was originally assigned to the Collier team. But as Reeve is Collier’s coach in Lynx, the captains chose to change coaches.
Clark chose his two FEVER teammates available in the Draft: the alera/pivot Aliyah Boston (Selection No. 1) and the Kelsey Mitchell base (Selection No. 10). Completing the headline of Clark, along with her and Boston, are the base of Los Liberty, Sabrina Ionescu (Selection No. 3), the pivot three times MVP of the WNBA, A’JA Wilson, of the Las Vegas Aces (Selection No. 5), and the Aleher of the Phoenix Mercury, Satou Sabally (Selection No. 7).
Clark’s reserves were headed by Mitchell, followed by the Las Seattle Storm, Gabby Williams (Selection No. 12), the base of the Washington Mystics, Sonia Citron (Selection No. 14), the War Kiki Iriafen (Selection No. 16), the base of the Aces, Jackie Young (Selection No. 18) of the Golden State, Kayla Thornton (Selection No. 20). Collier chose his ex -partner from Uconn and USA Basketball, the Liberty wing, Breanna Stewart, with the second choice. The rest of the Collier team headlines are the base of Atlanta Dream, Allisha Gray (Selection No. 4), the Storm wing, Nneka Ogwumike (Selection No. 6) and the Dallas Wings base, Paige Bueckers (Selection No. 8).
The Collier team reserves are his Lynx partner, the Courtney Williams base (Selection No. 9), the Storm base, Skylar Diggins (Selection No. 11), the Chicago Sky alera, Angel Reese (Selection No. 13), the Mercury warehouse, Alyssa Thomas (Selection No. 15), the base of Los Angeles Sparks, Kelsey Plum (Selection No. 17) and the Atlanta base, Rhyne Howard (Selection No. 19).
The players doubted the possibility of exchanging players, but did not materialize. Initially, Clark offered Sabally by Stewart, so that Brondello would train the two Liberty players along with Stewart and Ionescu. But Collier counterattacked by asking Clark to change Boston to Stewart, and the proposal was rejected.
The triple contest and challenge of skills of the stars game will be on Friday, July 18 (8 PM ET, AM850). The stars game will be July 19 (8:30 pm et, ABC/Disney+/AM850+). All events will take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, headquarters of the Faver.
