With the announcement of the duo of pilots by 2026, season in which the US giant will disembark in F1, the team will begin with the simulations to get ready to the Australian GP.

Cadillac is a luxury car manufacturer in the United States that was born in 1902. Within its select list of historical clients appears Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Eric Clapton, Paul Newman or Brad Pitt, just to name a few. Even Salvador Dalí, who did not know how to drive, took a Cadillac to perform his work “Dresses cars.” The brand He has a giant legacy and from 2026 he will seek sports success in Formula 1.

Last Tuesday it was announced that Valtteri Bottas and Czech Pérez will be the duo of pilots for the first season of the team, which will be the 11th in the World Cup. The experienced pilots live in 2025 in dry dock, with an important difference: the Finnish is still involved in the world of F1 and was in all this year’s races since his reserve position of Mercedes-Benz. Bottas, in addition, was (and is) a source of permanent consultation of the young Kimi Antonelli, the titular rookie chosen by the silver arrows to accompany George Russell. Instead, the Mexican is away from his departure from Red Bull.

With the contracts of their pilots already signed, Cadillac will begin with its next step in the preparation for 2026. Bottas will continue to work with the German Team until the end of the season, but will be in permanent contact with its future team. With this panorama, it will be Czech who will have total availability for work that will include evidence with vehicles more than two years old (TPC) and race weekend simulations.

A detail for nothing less: Cadillac does not have previous F1 cars. The logical path, although not confirmed, is that they use a Ferrari model. Maranello’s house will provide promoters to the brand new team for its first two World Cup seasons. The American brand will only have the own driver for 2028. “We do not have a TPC car or a current one that we can operate, but we are already simulating race events,” said team director, Graeme Lowdon, in statements that The Race collects.

“We have a very clear plan for our preparation for Melbourne next year, which is not limited to simulating careers, which is fundamental. In the last simulation, we probably had 50 or 60 engineers involved throughout the weekend, both in the United Kingdom and in the United States, getting used to working as a team, ”Lowdon added.

Monza is the next place chosen for a weekend simulation, which will begin on Thursday and will end on Sunday. “We need to be in a position in which, when we arrive at Melbourne, it is not the first time that people listen to voices, or work together, or anything similar. We have a plan to improve little by little so that, when we arrive in Melbourne, we are fully, and the pilots themselves play a fundamental role.”
