Atlanta Hawks end their surprising run in the NBA Cup with a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in the semifinals.

The Hawks Not only were they outscored by nine points in the fourth quarter, but they made just 5 of 16 shots and missed six of their last seven attempts.

“I know there were some shots that were really good and we had to work for them,” the Los Angeles coach said. Hawks, Who Snyder. “That said, I think we know there are certain things we need to do better. “I think the story for me is just how we compete.”

The Hawks They arrived in Las Vegas by going 3-1 in the group stage — including a 117-116 victory over reigning champion Boston — and then winning in New York 108-100 in a quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Despite everything, the Hawks managed to show that the Eastern Conference does not only belong to the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I think what we’ve done in this Cup was really, really special,” said Trae Young, who came close to his fourth career triple-double with 35 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. “I think we’ve really found the way we want to play.”

“I feel like this Cup was really good for us. For a young team to get as far as we did, we can really use this as hopefully a boost for the rest of the season.”

But Young lamented missed opportunities in the fourth quarter.

“We showed throughout this Cup that we belong,” said Jalen Johnson, who had 15 points and 10 rebounds. “We can compete with the best. Unfortunately, today we fell short. This alone is going to give us a lot to learn moving forward. Especially towards the end in those last five, six minutes, I definitely have to be better.

“As a team, we have a lot of room to grow, but I am proud of everyone. We beat a lot of odds by getting to Las Vegas. There is nothing to regret. “We just have to keep moving in the right direction.”
