Barça has Agustín Ubal’s return to the Palau outlined
Frantic days in the Barça offices, which continue working on a profound remodeling of their squad to try to end the title drought that has haunted them for three years. The last step for the Barça club is the recovery of Agustín Ubal, the 22-year-old Uruguayan outsider (23 in a few weeks) trained in the youth categories – and therefore training space – and who this last season has stood out in the ranks of Baxi Manresa. The first to reveal Barça’s interest in Ubal was journalist Óscar Herreros.
Ubal’s return to the Palau is already outlined, which will make him the fourth reinforcement after the signings of American centers Moses Wright and Josh Nebo and American point guard Justin Robinson. None of them have been officially confirmed by the club, something that is expected to happen starting this week. Barça also has advanced efforts to incorporate a second American point guard, Umoja Gibson, who is about to obtain a Bulgarian passport.
Ubal arrived at Barça when he was 16 years old and even made his debut with the first team. In 2022, a series of transfers began that took him through Breogán, Bilbao and Palencia and in the summer of 2024 he agreed to leave Barça and signed for Granada. This past season he has already exploded in the ranks of Baxi Manresa, with whom he has averaged 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, one assist and 10.6 efficiency. Ubal had three more seasons left on his contract with Manresa, who will receive a transfer from Barça.
