Bad times for the figure who was revealed in 2025: goodbye to 2026 due to wrist injury

It had been a long time waiting for Amanda Anisimova at the heights of the women’s circuit, but it was not until 2025 when she truly broke out of her shell by completing a season in line with her potential: two tournament titles WTA 1,000 (Doha, Beijing)two finals Grand Slam (Wimbledon, US Open)entry with honors in the world top-10 (3rd best ranking) and classification for the first time for the WTA Finalswhere they fell in the semifinals, forcing three sets against the then No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

So convincing was his performance that in early 2026 Anisimova appeared in the pools as one of the possible new champions of grand slam. However, times are bad for the American because the year has been disappointing for her and, finally, she has decided to shelve the season to recover well from a wrist injury.

“I am going to end my season this year. I have suffered a wrist injury again that I must treat. It is time to recover, reset and see you all in 2027,” Anisimova, now out of the world top-10 (11th), wrote on her social networks.

Anisimova has only played 12 tournaments this year with a very poor record for a world top-10, 22 wins and 12 losses, her performances in the ‘big four’ being especially discreet in contrast to 2025, when she reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Openbeaten there by Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka.

Amanda has only reached the quarterfinals this year in the Australian Openwhere he gave in to Jessica Pegulaand lost in the 3rd round in the other three Grand Slams, Roland Garros (Diana Parry), Wimbledon (Madison Keys) and the US Open (Anastasia Potapova)which has become his last game of 2026 after announcing that he will no longer play this year.
