Angel Reese adds eight techniques; is suspended before the Fever

The WNBA rules establish that players and coaches are suspended a game after receiving an eighth technical foul in the regular season, and one match for every two subsequent technical offenses.


Chicago – Sky’s star, Angel Reesehe received a mandatory suspension of a match from the WNBA on Thursday due to his eighth technical foul and will not play when Chicago faces the Indiana Fever on Friday.

Reese received a technical foul near the end of the first half in the victory of the Sky by 88-64 over Connecticut on Wednesday, hitting Aaliyah Edwards on the head while fighting for the bouncing position in the painting. The rules of the league establish that the players and coaches are suspended a game after receiving an eighth technical foul in the regular season, and one match for every two subsequent technical offenses.

Coach Tyler Marsh declared after the game that Sky would challenge the technical foul and ask the League for their review.

Reese ended with 18 points and 13 rebounds for his 23. Double-double against Connecticut, which helped Sky break a streak of four losses.

The two times there did it after expressing its frustration with the franchise, declaring the Chicago Tribune that “you may have to change course and do what is better for me” if the team does not improve its performance. He retracted his comments after the game and said he had already apologized to the team. Sky have a 10-30 record.

Reese, who was the seventh selection of the WNBA Draft last season, averages 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds, the best mark of the league. He has at least one more season in his rookie contract.
