Alpine, at the bottom of Monza with Pierre Gasly and Paul Aron
The French team suffered in the long lines during the first free training of the 16th F1 date in which Estonus turned with the A525 of Franco Colapinto.
It was known in advance that Alpine was going to suffer in Monza. On the Italian track, with its long straight, the help of the engine is essential to be in the fight and the French team has its largest Achilles heel (it is not the only one) in the driving plant. Therefore, no one surprised that the A525 were 18th and 20th in the first free training of the GP of Italy, 16th date of the 2025 exercise of F1.
Pierre Gasly was the best of the two representatives of the Team de Estone. And the other? It was not Franco Colapinto. The Argentine left his armchair to Paul Aron to comply with the regulation that indicates that all teams must give them their two cars in two rehearsals in the season to pilots who have less than two races in the category. It was the Buenos Aires who chose Monza as the track for his A525 to come out the debt. The other occurred when Jack Doohan gave the steering wheel to Ryo Hirakawa in Japan. As the French team did not declare before the FIA the first date of the year in Australia (Doohan complied with the regulations), they owed one and was fulfilled in Italy.
Aron was last in the time table, half the second exact of Gasly (Oliver Bearman, with the Haas, got into the middle of the Alpine). The Estonian pilot, who integrated the Mercedes Development Program, completed 23 turns (three less than the Frenchman) and made a spine during the batch. There were several pilots who suffered small mistakes during the batch, but Aron, the only one to make a spin.
In the second session, 43 will be painted again in the A525 and Colapinto will begin its task in Italy. Undoubtedly, a weekend that will be hard for the team on an unavailable track. Aron, meanwhile, will continue in its reserve role waiting to get on the first two rehearsals that Galsy’s car must still meet.
