After starting in the Copa del Rey, James is once again a substitute at Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano defeated Valencia 1-0 as a visitorat the Mestalla stadium, in a game corresponding to matchday 16 of the Spanish League.

The Madrid team added three important points that move them away from the relegation spotsafter three consecutive losses for the championship.

The Colombian James Rodríguez was again on the substitute bench and again he was left without adding minutes in a Spanish league match.

The midfielder had just started in the 3-2 victory against Unionistas de Salamanca in the Copa del Rey, a match in which he provided an assist to Pedro Díaz.

James has played 136 minutes in six games, five of them as a substituteentering to play the last minutes of the second half.

On the next day, Rayo Vallecano will be home against Real Madrid at the Vallecas stadium, on matchday 17 of the Spanish League.
