Gasly had started the weekend well, with a seventh place in free practice and a good lap to get into the second stage of qualifying, in which he finished thirteenth, and both on Saturday and Sunday he confirmed his positive feelings.

Regarding the sprint, the 29-year-old driver overtook a couple of cars at the start and, with a solid performance, took advantage of other people’s mistakes, such as the crashes of Piastri and Hülkenberg, to reach ninth place. There he had to pass a pilot, something he achieved by leave Lance Stroll behind.

Gasly was even close to Alonso, sixth, and Hamilton, seventh, with a very good pace, but finished in eighth place.

And this Sunday, in the highlight of the weekend, he remained even throughout the 71 laps and closed tenth, adding another key point for Alpine, which now reached the 22 units in the seasonwhere it is very far from Sauber (64), Haas (70), Aston Martin (72) and Racing Bulls (80).

In fact, Alpine had seven consecutive Grand Prix without scoring: the point that Gasly added on July 27 in Spa, for the Belgian Grand Prixwas the last (he previously contributed in Bahrain, Miami, Spain and Great Britain) until this Brazil.

Since then, they passed Hungary, Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Singapore, United States (Texas) and Mexicountil in San Pablo the Frenchman got into the points in both races: the sprint and the main race.
