Oscar Piastri, after winning in China: “It was my best weekend in F1”

The Australian pilot beat from end to end on the second date of the season and sealed his third success in the category.

Oscar Piastri’s countenance does not vary. Perhaps their mental strength and tenacity that characterize it put a breastplate to their feelings, but the Australian always shows the same, impertérrito. When he wins or when he is wrong. There are no tears for errors or overflowing joys for victories. So is him. And in China, after achieving a sensational triumph on the second date of the 2025 Formula 1 season that was not modified.

When he had to testify, after his third victory in the category, he said: “It was an incredible weekend. The cars worked great all the time. Obviously, I am proud of this, I deserved it after what happened last weekend,” said Piastri, who thus left behind Australia’s error, just the career of his house, and which turned into a ninth place an almost safe second when he did not know how to control his MCL39 under the rain.

Before starting the World Cup, Piastri had warned that his 2025 target was the title and with what was done in Shanghai, added to the fact that he handles the most powerful car of the F1, without a doubt that he can fulfill it. “On my side I had a lot of work, I think it was my best weekend in F1. I had many problems last year, I am very satisfied,” he said.

And, of course, the top rival he has at this beginning of the season is his partner Lando Norris. The English, second in China, said that the McLaren “is fast everywhere. It is working differently than last year and I have to adapt to my management style.” Piastri did not opinion the same thing and already sent him a psychological dart in the internal fight. “The car basically did not change in the last three years, we have complaints from the car, it is the fastest, but it is not yet perfect. It does many things well, but it is a permanent process,” he said.

The next F1 stop will be Suzuka for the Japan GP. There, again the McLaren will be the candidates and Norris will arrive as a leader, with eight points of advantage over Max Verstappen (Red Bull), nine more than George Russell (Mercedes) and there appears Piastri, ten.
