Unicaja rules out the departure of forward Ignas Brazdeikis to Baskonia

The sports director of Unicaja, Juanma Rodríguezhas ruled out the possibility that Lithuanian forward Ignas Brazdeikis leaves the Malaga club to sign for Baskonia and has indicated that “there is no truth in this matter” because they have not received “any communication from the player or his representation agency.”

“I always say that there are some clauses that during the season are more economically important due to the situations that may occur,” said the cajista leader at a press conference, who assured that The player has an exit option in his contract and that, if someone executes it, “the club cannot do anything”, although “at this time there is no knowledge of any of that.”

Juanma Rodríguez was calm about the existing information of a possible departure of Brazdeikis because “his representation agency has several players here and, if there had been something, being a serious agency, they would have communicated some issue about it.”

After signing American power forward Kevin Knoxthe sports management is working on hiring a center, although it acknowledged that “it is a quite complex situation due to the shortage of this type of players” and, in addition, “there are many teams that have started their competitions, injuries are appearing and there are important clubs that want to incorporate players to cover those losses or improve the performance of their squads.”

“We are there, but it is going to be an easy situation and, when we understand that there is someone who can help the team, improve it and fit well with what we have, we will try to incorporate him if the possibility arises,” he said.

Regarding the recoveries of injured players, the Senegalese center Yannick Nzosa and the base Alberto Diazspecified that “in about three weeks, probably after the window, Nzosa will join and Alberto is also progressing quite well and that is good news.”
