Curry’s Warriors add their sixth victory driven by Yaxel and the bench

The Golden State Warriors beat the Miami Heat this Thursday 120-100 led by Stephen Currywho has found new life for the team thanks to rookie Yaxel Lendeborg and bench depth.

The Warriors, who began the season with three losses, now have six consecutive wins.

Curry was the game’s top scorer with 29 points, followed by the Dominican Lendeborg with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and three steals. The NCAA champion with the University of Michigan has established himself in Steve Kerr’s quintet.

In addition to Curry and Lendeborg, The Warriors used Draymond Green as a conductor with 11 assists.

The bench has become one of the great arguments of these Warriors, which dominates the rival second units. This Thursday he added 53 points – to Miami’s 27 -, led by Georges Niang (13) and Brandon Williams (10).

All this, without Jimmy Butler, still out for months due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, nor Kristaps Porzingis, separated from the team due to medical problems and whose salary, as it became known this week, the Warriors have stopped paying.

The Warriors and Heat were tied 53-53 at halftime, but Golden State won the third quarter 38-23, unbalancing what until then had been a very close game, marked by Klay Thompson’s first visit to San Francisco with the Miami jersey.

Davion Mitchell was the Heat’s leading scorer with 22 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo had to settle for 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo completed another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Thompson finished with 11 points after 3 of 10 shooting from the field and 2 of 7 from the perimeter, far from the level he offered during his eleven seasons in the Bay.

The Heat have not quite hit the mark after the high-profile arrival this summer of Antetokounmpo and have only won three of the nine games played.

Devin Booker boosts Suns

In the other game this Thursday, the Phoenix Suns beat the Orlando Magic 117-104with 30 points from Devin Booker and 24 from Dillon Brooks, and driven by their success from the perimeter, with 17 triples in 34 attempts (50%).

In Magic punished by their 25 losses, Wendell Carter Jr. scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Tristan da Silva contributed 18 points and Franz Wagner had 15 points and 15 assists.

Both the Suns (2-5) and the Magic (2-6) are having a bad start to the season. With their victory this Thursday, the Suns ended a streak of four consecutive losses, while the Magic chained their third.
