Night without any NBA game: why?
Exceptionally, there were no NBA games last night. The American league stipulated that there would be no game on the night of November 3 to encourage fans and the NBA community in general to vote in the Election Day of the United States. Specifically, the mid-term elections.
Democrats won control of Congress in a major blow to donald trumpa figure that generates a lot of opposition among many NBA players.
For one reason or another, no champion of the American league has made the traditional visit to the White House during Trump’s two terms, neither in the first between 2017 and 2021 nor at the moment in the current one that began in 2025.
The 2025 champions Oklahoma City Thunder did not go to pay their honors to the president last year due to “timing problems” and the current champions New York Knicks -of which Trump is a fan-, have not yet confirmed whether they will make the traditional visit.
The other two dates without NBA games will be, as usual, Thanksgiving Day (November 26) and Christmas Eve (December 24).
The American league resumes this coming morning with all the Spaniards returning to action.
The Thunder of Aday Mara host the Cavaliers, Hugo González’s Celtics host the Bucks of former Barça player Kasparas Jakucionis and Baba Miller’s Clippers host Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Heat, while Santi Aldama He could debut with Dallas against Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs. Sergio de Larrea will not yet return to the Mavericks from his sprained knee.
