The Spanish Borja Sainz and Gabri Veiga They shined this Saturday with the Portby contributing goals and assists in the 4-0 win by the champion and leader against the bottom team Estoril on the tenth matchday of the Portugal League. There was not long to wait for a Porto goal, as in the 4th minute Sainz found Pepe on the right, and he immediately crossed for the Dane Victor Froholdt to deflect the ball into the back of the net.
The champion exercised overwhelming dominance over the bottom team in the first half (with 70% possession and 15 shots on goal compared to only 2), but the goals only came after the break, with a special role from Borja Sainz and Gabri Veiga. In the 64th minute, Veiga back-heeled the ball to Sainz, and the Basque winger, with an arcing shot, extended the ‘dragons’ lead.
It is Borja Sainz’s fifth goal in the Portuguese League, and the second consecutive day in which he scores, after having been decisive in the previous one against Gil Vicente (0-1). In turn, in the 70th minute, Gabri Veiga saw his shot intercepted by Estoril goalkeeper Martin Turk, but former Real Sociedad and Sevilla player André Silva got to the rebound first and scored the third for the blue and white.
The Galician midfielder’s goal would finally come three minutes later, when, after receiving a pass from Sainz inside the area, he dribbled past a couple of rival defenders and established the final 4-0.
Porto thus adds its tenth victory in ten rounds, while Estoril remains at the bottom of the standings without having achieved a single victory so far in the Portuguese League.
