“For Ceuta and Melilla, Morocco does not surrender, nor does its people”

Ceuta and the migratory crisis that the Spanish autonomous city has been experiencing since the end of July is still very topical, both in Spain as in Morocco. The world of football is no stranger to the situation, as has been seen in our league with several teams taking to the field with t-shirts in support of the people of Ceuta, in some cases with controversy such as when Mbappé, Vinicius and Konaté they hid part of the message “We are all mackerels.” But the issue is also being raised in the Moroccan league.

This past weekend, in the duel that faced the Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca and the Widad Temaraat the Mohamed V Stadium, the fans of the local team displayed a banner in one of the backgrounds with the following message in Spanish: “For Ceuta and Melilla, Morocco does not surrender, nor does its people”. The match ended with a visitor victory (1-3).

A new case of political vindication by Moroccan fans, as those of Morocco also did less than a month ago. Maghreb Fezwho displayed a banner with the message “Ceuta and Melilla: two cities, one homeland: Morocco”.
