He did not cut a single hair and asked for the Argentine’s exclusion from a career. And he also launched another forceful phrase: “There are drivers who should not be in F1.”

However, two days later he wanted to publish a text on his Instagram stories to clarify that he quickly regretted those hot phrases and that he wrote a message to Colapinto to ask for forgiveness. “A tough weekend and a disappointing and early end to the race. After the race I sent a message to Franco (Colapinto) apologizing for the comments I made, which I simply should not have said,” the text began.

“I know that emotions were running high, but that is no excuse, it was a mistake on my part. I have made mistakes in my career and I will continue to make them and this is a big part of racing and fighting to the limit,” the McLaren driver commented on his Instagram stories.

“Franco and I have a good relationship, we are still good friends and we are both looking forward to racing together again this weekend”he concluded, making it clear that, in theory, nothing should have changed in his relationship with the Argentine from Alpine.
