90-44. Spain beats Morocco and goes straight to the quarterfinals

The Spanish men’s wheelchair basketball team achieved this Monday the advance to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Ottawa (Canada) after beating Morocco (90-44) in a duel in which Manu Lorenzo stood out with 31 points and will face Australia in the next round.

The Spanish team, after adding two defeats in the three games of the group stage, made up for it with an authoritative victory against the African team, which from the first moment showed signs of not being able to cope with the play of the players led by Abraham Carrión.

Spain reached the end of the first quarter with a twenty-point lead, a lead that increased to 27 at halftime and made Morocco’s comeback attempts very difficult, whose players barely captured four rebounds on offense.

After the break, Spain continued doing its thing and, although the intensity dropped a little, its victory was not in danger because the difference continued to widen until it reached 35 points with the last ten minutes remaining, which were inconsequential.

Manu Lorenzowith 31 points and 6 rebounds, was the best player in Spain while Zouhair Challat, With 13, he was the most successful in Morocco.
