Despite going out in the time trial, Mas does not claim victory in La Vuelta: “It is never enough”
Enric Mas has had a great performance in the individual time trial of the 18th stage of La Vueltto. A CRI in which the leader of the race has gone from less to more to end up losing only 33 seconds compared to the Slovenian Primoz Roglicwhich a priori might seem like it could obtain a higher income compared to the Balearic Islands of Artà.
But Mas defended himself very well and ended up giving up only the indicated time, a difference that according to his words was part of the plans. “Yes, I imagined it, we had it in mind. We were confident that we were going to lose less than people thought, well we continue.”
Later in statements to Eurosport, the Movistar Team leader He highlighted that “the truth is that we have felt good at all times and I think that the time I have lost has been basically at the beginning, but we had that in mind, but happy. Pressure? Pressure is what influenced me the least, I was simply happy to wear the red jersey for so many days and one more day is a source of pride.”

Mas leaves the time trial with a difference of 1’37” compared to Roglic with three stages left, two of them very mountainous and with the ‘trap’ circuit on the last day.

Given this scenario, Enrique does not ring the bells: “It is never enough with rivals like Primoz, like Gall, Richard, Oscar… they are rivals that can surprise you at all times, so you have to be super attentive and we can never be confident because we can lose.”
