Today, trap stage in La Vuelta 24 hours before another decisive day in the mountains
It is true that in The Return Any day the hare can jump. After yesterday’s mountain stage and tomorrow’s tough day, the survivors of the race face a day that is expected to be highly contested and in which the big favorites should give up the spotlight to other runners.
Ahead, one of the longest stages of the 81st edition of the Spanish roundwith 193 kilometers, whose route is dotted with three ports, one of the first category and two of the second, with the incentive of finding the first wall already at the beginning, which will undoubtedly set off all the alarms.
After warming up their legs for a few kilometers, the peloton will face the first scoring climb of the day (Sale of Barley14 kilometers of ascent at 5.1% average slope). A first promotion that will be followed by Legionnaire’s Heights (2nd, km 80 of the day, 15 km of ascent at 3.1% average) and the Port of Granada (2nd, km 155 of the day, 7 km climb at 5.6%); a mountainous difficulty that is crowned 33 kilometers from a finish line to which the cyclists will rush at full speed to the finish line in Loja (Granada).
