Arteta confirms that the market is not closed for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal coachexplained this Monday, after the 0-1 victory against Aston Villa, that the London club is “going to try to improve the team” during the last day of the transfer market, whose deadline ends this Tuesday night, without revealing the positions or names that are of interest.

“As I have already said, We are trying to improve the team and until this Tuesday night we will try to do it. “I have been disconnected from the world for 24 hours, because I think my energy probably has to be in the game, but I will return to it now,” declared the coach, according to his club’s official website.

Arsenal have been linked to a interest in Atlético de Madrid forward Julián Álvarezwho, for now, is not convinced about going to play for the London team, after his frustrated signing for Barcelona this summer.

Asked if Arteta needs more resources in his squad, the coach replied that it will depend on the injuries they suffer during the season. “We can talk about now, but it could change. We knew that if we had an injury in the back line with Jurrien (Timber) out, we would be in big trouble, so we had to sign Ezri (Konsa),” he reviewed.

“Today, Mosquera could not continue, so We know that the depth of the squad has to be really great when we are fighting for four competitions the way we also play, so we are going to try to do it,” added the coach, without revealing who or who the objectives are on the last day of the transfer market.
