“When I found out it made me very sad; I lost my father and the pain is inexplicable”

The Argentinian Matias Almeydatechnician Montereyexpressed this Saturday his closeness with Lionel Messi for the death of his father, Jorge, at the age of 68, after the match won 2-1 by the Mexican team against an Inter Miami without their number 10. “When I found out the news, it made me very sad. I lost mine and many things go through my mind. These are moments when you don’t know what is happening or why,” said Almeyda in the press conference after the match.

“I accompany him in this pain and send him a lot of love. For those of us who have lost our parents, the pain is inexplicable. It is very sad; it is part of life, but human beings are prepared to receive a life, not for it to go away. It is very difficult,” he added.

Jorge Messi died in the early hours of this Saturday night in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, according to the Centro sanatorium of that city, where the 68-year-old businessman was admitted. Lionel Messi traveled to Rosario after receiving the news and was not in the match lost by Inter Miami.
