La Laguna Tenerife signs American guard TJ Bamba
He The Tenerife Lagoon announced this Monday the signing of the American shooting guard TJ Bamba for the 2026-2027 season.
The player, 24 years old and 1.95 meters tall, arrives from the Rasta Vechta German, a team with which last season he averaged 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists between the Bundesliga and the FIBA Europe Cup, The Aurinegro club reported in a statement.
Born in the New York neighborhood of BronxAlthough he spent part of his childhood in Senegal, Bamba developed his university career in the United States, where he played in Washington State, Villanova and Oregon.
In his last season in the NCAA he was included in the Best Defensive Quintet of the ‘Big Ten Conference’ before making the jump to European basketball in the summer of 2025.
After not being chosen in the NBA drafthe signed for Rasta Vechta, with whom he played in the quarterfinals of the German league, a tie in which his team lost to Alba Berlin, the subsequent champion of the tournament.
This summer he participated in the NBA Summer League with the Denver Nuggetsafter having competed in the previous year’s edition with the Brooklyn Nets.
