Casademont Zaragoza adds experience with the signing of Latvian Kristine Vitola

He Casademont Zaragoza has reached an agreement so that the Latvian center Kristine Vitola (1991, 1.96 meters) joins the team for the 2026-2027 season, with a contract that includes a unilateral termination clause for both parties, executable in January 2027, as reported this Saturday by the club.

Vitola lands in Zaragoza after an extensive career in the elite of European basketball that has allowed her to establish herself as one of the most reliable and experienced interiors on the continental scene, the club highlighted in a press release.

An absolute international with Latvia from the youth categories, the center began her career in her country before making the leap to the NCAA with the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP), where he completed 37 games in his last season (2013-2014), scoring 11.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game, before beginning his professional journey through the main European leagues.

Throughout his career he has competed in countries such as Türkiye, France, Italy, Hungary and Spain, accumulating extensive experience in both national and European competitions.

His professional debut in Spain was in Mann Filter Zaragoza (2014-2015) where he averaged 13.3 points and 8.5 rebounds, which earned him the top blocker in the competition.

Later, he went through Perfumerías Avenida, Valencia Basket and IDK Euskotrenwhich arrived in the winter market from the Panathinaikos Greek.

Vitola stands out for his ability to play close to the rim, his tactical intelligence, his presence on the rebound and his ability to open spaces thanks to his good outside shooting, qualities that allow him to adapt to different offensive and defensive registers.
