Pogacar: “This Tour is hot hell and my body is colder than ever”
The Slovenian Tadej Pogacarleader of the Tour de France and top favorite to add his fifth victory in the French round, praised the advances in nutrition and hydration in the team and said that during this edition, “which is being hell” his body has a lower temperature than any in the past.
“The biggest change in recent years has been in relation to nutrition and hydration. This Tour de France is being very hot, It’s been hell, but my body temperature is lower than any other in the past. The planning is different,” said the UAE cyclist.
The Slovenian justified his winning mentality in the education he has received from his parents and in the environment in which he started cycling.
“There are many factors that explain the mentality. I thank my parents for They have passed on good genetics and a good mentality to me. It also has to do with the fact that when I ran as a child in Ljubljana, with people my age who ended up becoming my best friends, I grew up in an atmosphere of people looking for victory,” he said.
Pogacar was grateful that the seventh stage was “transitional” after the performance he gave in the sixth, where he won the last Pyrenean day and regained the yellow jersey. “I hope tomorrow is the same, although in the Tour anything is possible,” he pointed out.
He also spoke about the UAE team’s nutritionist, the Spaniard Gorka Prieto, of whom he praised the work he has done, “creating his own food strategy” and who “has become a friend.”
