Stéphanie Frappart new member of the UEFA Refereeing Committee

The UEFA Executive Committee has just announced the appointment of Stephanie Frappart for the position of Refereeing Officer in the UEFA Referees Committee. The Frenchwoman has forged one of the most outstanding refereeing careers in modern football. International since 2010, he has officiated more than 100 matches in Europe with a series of historic appointments. Starting with the 2019 European Super Cup that faced Liverpool and Chelsea in Istanbul. Designation that made her the first woman to referee a UEFA men’s final.

She was also the first woman to referee a French Ligue 1 match, a men’s Champions League match and a World Cup match. It was at the last World Cup event in Qatar in 2022. In this new position, Stephanie Frappart will contribute to the strategic development of refereeing across Europe, supporting work on referee appointment, performance monitoring, technical guidance and ongoing referee development. The Frenchwoman fills the vacancy left by the former Czech referee Dagmar Damkova who was until now the female representative in this Arbitration Committee led by the Italian Roberto Rosetti and where is the spanish Carlos Velasco Carballoformer international referee and former president of the CTA.
