The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has been renamed World Tennis with the aim of “acquiring its own identity” and maintaining “long-term sustainable growth” around the world, as announced this Thursday.

Starting this Thursday, the organization that has governed tennis worldwide since 1913 will be called World Tenniswhose logo depicts a tennis ball and a W, and has committed to reinvesting at least 85% of all its annual revenue over the next decade.

The entity also defined its five strategic priorities, including increasing the number of players from 106 to 140 million by 2035, promoting future stars, growing official national competitions, guaranteeing the future of the sport and attracting new investors to have new and more solid sources of income.

Although details are not yet known, the idea of ​​World Tennis is to strengthen the Davis Cup, the Billie Jean King Cup and the World Team Cup and serve as an access route for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
