Ettore Messina and Sergi Oliva, speakers at Coach’s Day
The Technical Committee of the Catalan Federation (FCBQ) and the Catalan Association of Coaches (ACEEB) finalize the preparations for the ninth edition of the Coach’s Daywhich will be held this Saturday, June 20 at the Pavelló Nou La Gamba in Vilafranca of the Penedes. At the last minute, the meeting added the participation of Sergi to its speakers. Oliva, assistant coach at Portland Trail Blazers and one of the Catalan technicians with the greatest knowledge of the NBA world.
The event will offer a space for learning and exchange designed to connect professional basketball with training. Throughout the event, aspects such as the management of groups of all levels, lifestyle habits and the design of training sessions will be addressed, through various talks, clinics and round tables.
During the morning, in the first block, attendees will be able to choose simultaneously between Marta’s presentations Santiago (“Defense construction in formative stages”), Paula Pla (“How sports and basketball improve life skills”) and Guillermo Novella (“Entropy and session design in basketball”).
Subsequently, Miguel Mendez will give a session on “Special defenses”, followed by the presentation of Ettore Messina, former coach of Armani Milan, who will analyze the “Construction of the attack by concepts”.
In the afternoon, after lunch, a round table will be held under the title “Basketball, a team game: the work of the technical team in high-performance teams. Aspects that can be transferred to grassroots basketball.” Josep Maria will intervene in this debate LeftPaco RoundLaura Craving and the new addition, Sergi Olive.
The event will conclude at 5:45 p.m. with the traditional presentation of the Golden Slate (“Pissarra d’Or”), prior to the final closing of the day at 6:00 p.m.
Coach’s Day was launched in 2015 and has established itself as one of the reference training events for technicians in the Catalan territory.
