Marta Canella, second signing of the new stage of Meins Avenida de Salamanca
He Meins Basketball Club Avenida de Salamanca continues planning for next season after the club’s notorious change of main sponsor and announced this Tuesday its second signing after the incorporation of the base-guard Ines Santibanez. This is the Galician forward Marta Canellawho recently separated from the Spar Girona.
Through his social networks, the Meins Avenue has presented his new player as a “multipurposewith quality and proven experience, capable of helping in many facets of the game.”
Often used as a ‘wild card’ also in his previous clubs, Canella has shown a willingness and versatility in the game to develop different roles.
In the last three campaigns he has competed in Spar Gironain Endesa Women’s Leaguewith presence in Euroleague included in the last year, a period in which he posted numbers of more than 4 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists on average.
Likewise, recently, he has participated in the Spanish team’s 3×3 concentration, in which he is a regular member.
At 31 years old and 1.81 m tall, Meins Avenida has underlined the “great offensive talent” from Canella, both to make baskets and to give them as gifts, along with contributions to the direction of the game, a lot of physicality and experience.
The club’s sports director, Raquel Romohas valued the incorporation of Canella, convinced that “he can provide experience, competitive intensity, solidity and balance.”
With Marta Canella, there are now three players confirmed for the 26/27 season: the Galician forward herself, Inés Santibáñez and Claudia Soriano, the only survivor from last season.
