Américo Branco, new sports director of the historic Sampdoria

Americo Branco He is the new sports director of the Sampdoria. The historic Italian club, European runners-up in 1992 after losing the final against Barcelona at Wembley (1-0), announced the incorporation of the Portuguese leader, who signed a two-season contract.

With this appointment, Américo Branco becomes the third Portuguese to hold sporting director roles in Italian football, after Tiago Pintoin Rome, and Carlos Freitas, at Fiorentina.

The manager is now beginning a new stage of his career, integrating into the structure of one of the most historic clubs in Italian football, although currently, with financial problems, he is in Serie B after being relegated in 2023.
