Paco Hernández: “It was unthinkable to be on the podium for two consecutive years”
Paco Hernandeznational rugby 7 coach, said this Tuesday that he was “very happy with the result” obtained by Spain, third of the World Series and for “the second consecutive year on the podium” after last season’s silver, “something unthinkable a few years ago.”
Hernandez He highlighted, in statements to EFE, “the performance of the entire team”, since he “was able to get a good result in the tournament”, held last weekend in Bordeaux (France), “despite having significant losses” to obtain “third place” in the final stage “and also be third overall.”
“There have also been other results that have helped us climb further positions in the table in which we were not well classified after sixth place in Valladolid,” admitted the Granada coach, who insisted on his “satisfaction for being on a podium again after a good season.”
The Andalusian coach is already looking to “next year” in which Spain has to “be there in the top four to “achieve” direct Olympic qualification, and that is the first objective”, so he will try to “generate good dynamics during the regular season and reach the last three tournaments very well.”
