Koeman, on Dumfries’ signing for Real Madrid: “I would have preferred to see him at Barça”

In the absence of official status on the part of the Real Madrid, Denzel Dumfries (30) will play for the white team next season. Everything is tied for the Inter Milan full-back to be a new Madrid player for the future. The news pleased Ronald Koeman, Netherlands coach, but not entirely… The former Barça player would have preferred to see him in another team.

Dumfries has already passed the medical examination at Real Madrid, which has yet to publicly announce his arrival after having already paid the 25 million of his clause. This is how Koeman spoke yesterday at a press conference: “I don’t know if the transfer is completely closed, but if anyone deserves it, it’s him. Of course, I would have preferred to see him play for FC Barcelona,” said the 63-year-old national coach, with a wink.
