Davide Ancelotti will return to Europe as Lille coach
Davide Ancelotti will be the new coach of the Lille. The French team confirmed the departure of their coach a few days ago, Bruno Genesio. the son of Carlo Ancelotti36 years old, will return to Europe to take on a new challenge after having been the second coach of the real Madriddirected by his father.
This season, Lille has finished in third place in the Ligue 1behind the PSG and of Lens. The ‘Dogues’ have qualified for the Champions League 2026-2027so Davide Ancelotti will compete in the top European competition.
The French team has participated in the most important European football competitions in ten occasionsreaching the knockout phase in three of them. An experienced technician
Ancelotti had his last experience in Europe as assistant coach of the real Madridwhen his father Carlo was the coach of the white club. In addition, he was an assistant technician in the Evertonhe Napleshe Bayern Munich and in France he was part of Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff in the PSG as a physical trainer. ‘Carletto Jr’ speaks five languages: Italian, French, Spanish, German and English, so he will know how to convey his ideas to the players in a clear and concise way.
His most glorious time was in Madrid, where his father took the Madrid club to the top, winning three Champions League titles. Davide was present at two of them. He conquered a total of 13 titles4 as a physical trainer and 9 as an assistant coach.
After leaving the Spanish club, Davide began his career as a coach in the Botafogofrom which he separated last December. According to the Brazilian press, the reason was internal disagreements about their way of working. While the Italian was on the ‘O Glorioso’ bench, he got a place in the qualifying phase of the Libertadores Cup.
