Play-in format:

Games 1: The seventh seed from each conference will host the eighth seed. The winner will obtain the seventh position in the playoffs. The losers will have another chance in Game 3 of their respective conference.
Games 2: The ninth seed from each conference will receive the tenth seed. The winner will advance to Game 3. The losers are eliminated and enter the NBA Draft lottery.
Games 3: The losers of the matches between the seventh and eighth places will receive the winners of the matches between the ninth and tenth places. The winners will obtain the eighth position in their conference in the postseason. The losers of Game 3 participate in the NBA Draft lottery.
