Las Leoncitas beat Las Cimarroncitas fairly in the Jr. Pan American Cup
After the victories in the first match against Mexico and in the second match against Canada, Las Leoncitas faced Las Cimarroncitas in a more complicated match than expected for date 3 of the Jr. Pan American Cup. With two goals from the team’s and the competition’s top scorer, Chiara Ambrosini, Argentina beat Uruguay 2 to 1.
The start was not as easy as with Mexico and the first goal of Ambrosini (18′) It only arrived in the second quarter. Las Cimarroncitas stood well inside the field and made Las Leoncitas’ task difficult in this third match of the Jr. Pan American Cup. Already in the third quarter and when the curtain was closing, once again the Ferro player, Chiara Ambrosini (41´)appeared to score his ninth goal in the contest through a short corner drive.
In the fourth and last quarterwith a more withdrawn Uruguay in search of a discount, those led by Rolando Rivero found the 1-2 thanks to captain Chiara Curcio (58′)who took advantage of the penalty awarded after an Argentine player touched her with her body on the goal line and scored a penalty to change the final result of the match. Finally, Las Leoncitas narrowly defeated Las Cimarroncitas and continue with a perfect score in the 2026 Junior Pan American Cup.
Argentina’s next match will be on 4/13 against the United States, starting at 3:00 p.m. Argentine time (2:00 p.m. local time). On the side of Uruguaythey will face that same day Canadabut the match will be played at 13 Uruguayan time (12 local time).
