Doges XV defeated 29-24 Capybaras XV in Córdoba on the 6th of Super Rugby Americas 2026in a match that started very even but that the locals knew how to tilt in their favor effectively at key moments.

The start was balanced and with a lot of dispute in the contact. Capibaras struck first with a penalty from Bruno Heit, but Dogos responded quickly: Juan Greising Revol scored the first try after good collective action. As the minutes passed, the Córdoba team began to gain strength in rival territory and, although the process was still closed, they managed to expand with a penalty from Julián Hernández.

The break of the first half came at the end, when Facundo Pueyrredón found space in the visiting defense and scored a try that, with the conversion of Mateo Soler, left the score 15-3 for Dogos.

In the complement, the local hit again at the right time. Luciano Avaca scored a new try that extended the lead, but Capibaras reacted with personality. First they scored with a goal from Ignacio Palillo and then they got fully into the game with a try from Ignacio Dogliani, both converted by Juan Bautista Baronio.

With the score tight and the morale of the whole coast, the closing became tense. However, Dogos showed character and struck again at the decisive moment: Mateo Soler scored the try that finally broke the rival resistance, before – at the end of time – Ignacio Gandini scored again to rescue at least the defensive bonus.

Beyond some passages of visitor dominance and the yellow cards that conditioned the development, Dogos XV was more timely, took better advantage of its chances and came away with a hard-fought victory against a demanding rival.
